Dear Fellow Traders,
My name is Marijana and i have been trading with consistent success for now almost 8 years. By profession a Management Accountant i have always loved numbers but, my passion for trading, I discovered it through my very good friend, a professional trader who at that time needed someone who will just record end of day data and code his strategy and alerts for the platform he was using at the time. I was intrigued to see that something i have been studied as a theory at University can be put into practice. So there it began my journey, not only towards financial freedom, but more important journey of self discovery as nothing before came even near to test myself as a person, clearly pointing out all of my weaknesses, ego and arrogance. I did demo account for about 2 years and i dont know whether it was too long or not, but by that time staring at charts, recognising patterns was my favorite hobby. Then I finally decided that its time to fund my account and start trading. It was a hell of a rollercoaster, emotions running high, blowing out few accounts on the way. First, I was paralyzed to press the button out of fear of losing; even after doing all my analysis; then i was worried i would miss on the move so would enter into trade completely unprepared. Needless to say i tried trading every possible instrument: starting with index options, ETF options, commodities futures as well as Emini, to finally settle on currencies. Then i was in the search of the most appropriate indicator, literally changing them every few days and running strategy tests that only worked in hindsight. Usually will run my losses high and cut my profits short that somehow at the end of the day i will doubt whether it is good idea to continue. But the will for success was always there although several times i took few weeks break in order to reflect on past mistakes and promise to myself to be more disciplined next time.
Making profit on consistent level day after day came much later and i cant pinpoint how or what was the trigger things to start changing, but looking back now i can say its more a state of a mind, maturity and discipline; experience and patience. I know there are lots of programs online that they promise to sell you the system that you can start trading successfully immediately, but my opinion is that it takes time; just as any other profession like doctor, lawyer, engineer; you need to grasp all the information, the actions that you are taking every time to become habit and second nature to you. And the most important thing before stepping into any transaction is to have answer of these questions: What, Why, Where, When, How, ?Always know the answer to them and you are good to go;that's your strategy. Over the years i have found that the more simple the chart is the clearer the picture it show. But even a good entry/exit can be detrimental if your money management is not right.
